Sectigo CA has announced that it will stop using Comodo CA roots. The transition to the new USERTrust CA roots should occur on 14th January 2019. This will allow Sectigo to remove any existing references to the Comodo brand – in particular, from the intermediate and root CAs.

The CA / B Forum, the regulatory body in the SSL industry, has banned the use of underscores (“_”) in any dNSName entries. The corresponding proposal (Ballot SC12) was accepted and supported by a majority of votes.

Comodo CA, a popular certification authority and a major supplier of solutions in the field of online security, has announced its rebranding. The company has changed its name to Sectigo after being bought by Francisco Partners about a year ago.
